Urban Decay Naked Palette 2

Hello Everyone!!!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend so far! So, I woke up this morning to a package and instantly knew what it was when I saw the Debenhams bag =D It's the Urban Decay Naked Palette 2!!! I have been so excited since I first saw it on YouTube where the US has grabbed theirs first in December! Finally, the Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 has hit the UK! I asked my friend to check in town, but the sales assistant said it is only on the Debenham's website until mid-February where it hits the stores. I made a order instantly!!! I was anxiously waiting for the next few days!!!
Anyway, you may have seen SOOOO many swatches of it already but here's mine anyway!!

They have done it again! At RRP £36, I do feel it's worth every penny. I'm just really impressed with the colours and the pigmentation of the swatches!! They are just sooo pretty!!! I can't wait to experiment the colours properly!!! =D I do love the new packaging of the Naked Palette 2, it's more sturdy and travel-friendly. It looks more lush compared to the old packaging. But either way, the actual product is amazing on both!

Have you got the both Urban Decay Naked Palettes??

& Which one do you prefer???

Re-using GlossyBox-es

Hey everyone!~

Hope everyone is well. So I have subscribed to GlossyBox since July 2011 now and have been collecting the boxes. I don't really use them because I already have a organisation system. But I recently just moved back to my parents house and I realised that the make up that I daily use has just been scattering around. I didn't like the idea of just putting my daily make up in the box and leave it in like that. I mean, don't get me wrong, the box is pretty, but I wanted something that I can dig into. So I was playing around the boxes and had an idea...why don't I make a drawer! So...making this at 4/5am in the morning wasn't random enough...but I also asked the lovely boyfriend to head to the 24 hours Tesco to get me superglue!! Haha...and he had to go the second time round too to get more. Anyway, this is my first DIY...and I'm quite proud of the results!
You will need:

1. 4x Glossybox-es or any Gift Box

2. 2x Superglue

3. Scissors that can cut through hard cardboard

4. Decorations (I used the Ribbons that came with the GlossyBox-es)

**You may want to rearrange it first before cutting anything up!**

So...the drawer consists of a lid which is the open top part, 3 boxes which are the drawers (which means your left with 3 more lids and a box), 2 of the lids will be the sides of the drawer. I used the last box as the base of the drawer and the last lid the back of the drawer. Hope that makes sense!

Anyway...let's start with the base of the drawer. Cut up the seams inside the box which will be laid out as the actual cardboard cut-out, then cut out the flaps leaving the rectangle in the middle. The rectangle bit is the base.
Now...moving on to the sides of the drawer - you will need 2 lids for this. You only need to cut out 2 seams...not all four!!! and make sure it's the longer side that you cut out..so basically, you cut out the long strip at the side and that enables you to insert all 3 drawers at the end. Also make sure that the other lid is the same but opposite.
Put the lids up opposite each other leaving a gap in the middle where the base should be and the long strip that has been cut off should be facing towards you. Then glue the bottom side of one the lids first and stick the base onto it.
Then using the last lid (which is the back of the drawer). Cut all the seams off which lays into the cut-out. Next step is to cut out ONLY the shorts flaps. Then make sure that the cut out fits into the sides & base of the drawers. Cut off excess - I just cut out the pink part of the other 2 flaps. Then glue the cut-out for the back of the drawer onto the first lid and then glue onto the second lid along with the base.
It now should look something like this. Then glue the 2 parts that is sticking out on the top and stick the lid onto it. This is the open top part of the drawer.
It's coming together now!!
Make sure the drawers fit in properly.
I just decorated the drawer by using the ribbons that GlossyBox provided. So any holes or any cardboard that has been cut where is visible; I just cover it by sticking ribbon along that side. I stuck a bow to make it look pretty, but you can also personalise it with rhinestones of even stencil your name on to it. Creativity is endless here!!
I used excess ribbons to make it into a loop so that i can open the drawers.
And TA-DA...finished product!!! :D
I placed all my regular skin-care products on the open top part of the drawer...the rest of the drawers is just make up that I daily use :) But of course, you can put anything into the drawers!!

I hope you like this and hope you can understand my explanation on this DIY. LOL I'm really bad at explaining things >.<

Let me know if your making your own drawer because I want to see the finished results!! Also let me know if you have any other ideas on how you re-use your GlossyBox-es!!

Love

2012

First thing first...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and New Year :)

Anyway, the start of a new year means January SALES!! I have been so busy that I have not had a chance to do any sales shopping except for Boxing Day...Did anyone queue up for the Selfridges sale at all?? I couldn't even get up nevermind queueing up! I got to town around 4-5pm which is so late...but surprisingly I managed to get a few things...I got the Balenciaga's L'Essence Fragrance & Vivienne Westwood's Naughty Alice fragrance giftsets :) You just can't go wrong with more fragrances in your collection!
Apart from that, I did head to Selfridges and there were still a few bags and accessories left in the sale which was quite shocking because normally everyone goes crazy over it!!! Anyway...I was just browsing around and debating whether to get something just for the sake of it and then suddenly...I saw the Alexander McQueen scarf...I just literally grabbed it straight away and didn't even look at the price. I was just so happy to find it since I couldn't see it elsewhere in the sales section. Anyway, it was just a little over half price - from £165 down to £82!! Such a steal! I already got the classic black & white scarf and to add another to your collection? Well, why not eh? So I went to the till and the sales assistant did mention that they just found the scarf at the back in the stock room and it was literally the last one! So I guess I'm quite lucky, and there goes me...a happy bunny :)
Okay, I guessed I lied about the January Sales actually...because I did buy a new toy to play with...but I just didn't go and get it myself :P Anyway it's the Blackberry Playbook!! I wanted it since it came out but I couldn't justify the price since I already had a netbook and PC...but anyway it was in the sales at Currys for £169...my friend works there so bonus! Got an extra 10% discount on top!! Thanks Julie :D Funny thing is, I managed to convince her to buy one and then after...she convinces her sister, Chau to go and buy one too!! :P
So now that the new year has started...do I have any New Year's resolutions?? To be honest, I still can't believe its 2012 already...and I haven't thought of it properly yet...I guess I can think of some now! haha...

Hmm...

1. To blog more! I never know what to blog really, but if you have any suggestions, please comment!!!

2. I wanted to start a Youtube channel ages ago and I did start one last year...but that was a introduction...anyway it's deleted now! But I guess I can start again??? Watch out for this space!! haha

3. To eat healthier and be healthy because health is important!

I can't think of anything else now...Let's see if I can keep this up! :)
Anyway, what's your New Year's resolutions? Have you been keeping it up? Or maybe you just started like me :P haha

Oooo...Just realised...Chinese New Year is end of this month too...Year of the dragon! Time flies soo quickk :( Getting older everyday sounds depressing! hahaha

Take Care!

October & November GlossyBox

Sorry I have been MIA lately...October was an eventful month as it was my 22nd birthday (5 days of shopping, karaoke-ing, eating etc), halloween, a good friend's wedding etc...So busy that I had no time to update my blog. Anyway, I can't believe it is going to be December soon...is anyone excited for Christmas?? I'm not really in the Christmas spirit yet...I've just been stressing and thinking a lot that last thing on my mind is Christmas...Have you got a Christmas wishlist??

Anyway...Here is what I did to my nails for my good friend's wedding.
Here is October's GlossyBox...
1. Dermalogica Age Smart MultiVitamin Thermafoliant (RRP £40.50)

2. Dermalogica Age Smart MultiVitamin Power Recover Masque (RRP £33)

3. Leighton Denny Expert Nails Colour & Care in Baby Doll (RRP £11)

4. Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner (RRP £13)

5. Robert Piguet Eau de Parfums (RRP £65)

*6 Month Thank You Gift* Dermalogica Age Smart Renewal Lip Complex (RRP £22.50)
I really enjoyed the Thank You Gift from October's GlossyBox, the Dermalogica Age Smart Renewal Lip Complex was very moisturising as I suffer from dry lips and it kept my lips peel-free. Definitely something I need to have for the winter. I also really liked the Leighton Denny's Expert Nails Colour & Care in Baby Doll. As you know light colours may take a few coats to apply onto the nails. However, this is not the case. One coat gives you a more subtle/natural look and two coats is perfect!
Now for November's GlossyBox...
1. Arbonne FC5 Cooling Foot Creme (RRP £19)

2. Dead Sea Spa Magik Dead Sea Bath Salts (RRP £5.50)

3. Monu Skin Perfector (RRP £16.25)

4. Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps in Leopard (RRP £6.65)

5. Serge Lutens L'Eau Serge Lutens & Vitriol d'Oeillet fragrances (RRP £86/100ml)
Here is what I did to my nails with the leopard Nail Rock's...
I love how GlossyBox are listening to their customers - the card that comes with the box have definitely improved - the details like pricing, website to buy the full size product etc. You can also get 200 GlossyDots for every referred friend and you get a free GlossyBox after referring to 5 friends! Not only that, they also have a GlossyBox for Men. So it's good for those who like to pamper their partners/dad/friend etc! Definitely check out GlossyBox if you already haven't - http://www.glossybox.co.uk/

Anyway, hope you are all well!
